Our learning targets for the week of April 14-18:

Reading: I can use the language in a poem to make mental images.

Social Studies: I can distinguish the difference between producing and consuming.

Writing: I can examine great features of a nonfiction narrative as I begin to draft.

Math: I can explain what producers and consumers are.

Science: I can review for my upcoming CBA.

Grammar: I can identify what an antonym is.

Week of March 31

Reading: I can identify different types of media and their purpose.
 

Writing: I can analyze a variety of persuasive writing.

Math: I can divide real world situations using objects.

Grammar: I can identify and label parts of a friendly letter.

Science: I can distinguish between man-made and natural resources.

Week of March 17

Here are our learning objectives for this week:

Reading: I can determine the meaning of multiple meaning words by using context clues and schema.

Social Studies: I can analyze an expository text to identify ways that a famous American showed individualism. 

Grammar: I can identify the proper placement of an apostrophe in singular and plural possessive nouns.

Science: I can review for my upcoming CBA.

Math: I can see equal groups in real life situations.
Writing: I can compose a procedural book that is easy to follow.

Week of February 24-28

Our learning objectives for this week:

Reading: I can identify the author's purpose of a book.

Writing: I can write an expository paragraph about my research animal.

Science: I can identify and describe the needs of plants and animals.

Language Arts: I can identify and correctly use prepositions in reading and writing.

Social Studies: I can name and compare the roles of public officials.

Math: I can identify and describe the attributes of 2D and 3D shapes.

Week of February 17-21

Here are our learning targets for this week:

Writing: I can write an expository paragraph about my research animal. I can continue to publish my all about book.

Reading: I can make inferences using my scheme and clues from the text.

Math: I can identify 2D shapes and their attributes.

Science: I can research my animal using multiple resources.

Grammar: I can understand and use prepositions in the context of reading, writing, and speaking.

Week of January 27-31

Our learning targets for this week:

Reading: I can identify the elements of a folktale.

Language Arts: I can understand and use adverbs in the context of reading, writing, and speaking.

Science: I can observe, record, and compare how the physical characteristics and behaviors of animals help them meet their basic needs such as fins help fish move and balance in the water.

Math: I can review for my upcoming Math CBA.

Week of January 6-10

Our learning targets for the week of January 6-10:

Reading: I can describe the differences between narrative and expository.

Writing: I can suggest/create ideas for an expository paragraph.

Math: I can use graphs to add and subtract.

Science: I can investigate and record some of the unique stages that insects undergo during their life cycle.

Grammar: I can understand and use contractions in the context of reading, writing, and speaking.
