Week of October 21-26

Reading: I can monitor the importance of comprehension while reading a book.

Grammar: I can use adjectives correctly in a sentence. I can review my spelling words from lists 1-7.

Writing: I can write a descriptive piece about monsters.

Math: I can represent and compare whole numbers. I can use concrete and pictorial models to compose and decompose numbers up to 1,200 in more than one way as a sum of so many thousands, hundreds, tens and ones.

Science: I can investigate the effects on an object by increasing or decreasing amounts of light, heat, and sound energy such as how the color of an object appears different in dimmer light or how heat melts butter.

Week of October 14-18

Reading: I can monitor and fix my comprehension while reading.
Language Arts: I can use adjectives correctly in a sentence.
Math: I can apply mathematics problems arising in everyday life, society, and the workplaces
Science: I can successfully review and take my Science CBA.

Writing: I can recognize what makes a complete sentence, use correct punctuation, and revise and edit my work.

Week of October 7-11

Our learning targets for the week:

Reading: I can use titles, pictures, and key words to make predictions.

Math: I can relate number sentences (addition and subtraction) in problem solving situations when numbers are being compared.

Science: I can combine materials that when put together can do things that they cannot do by themselves.

Writing: I can recognize where more details may be needed in my writing.

Grammar: I can use adjectives to describe nouns.
